Add a phone system

Choose what Kuve should connect to.

Most PBXs ship a self-signed certificate. Leave this off unless you have installed a real one.

Add a line

A line is the route your calls go out on, and how busy it is allowed to get. Watch the line limit: when calls go out through your own phone system, each call uses two lines, not one.

What the PBX licence allows at once.
Operators throttle or block bursty callers.
Must be a number you own.

People

An agent's extension is the phone Kuve rings when they make a call. Without one, Kuve will not let them call at all — better than ringing the wrong phone.

Take the agent list from a phone system

Instead of typing extensions one by one, read them straight from your phone system. One wrong digit and the call rings nobody, so it is safer this way.

The same one for everybody created now. They should each change it after signing in.

Add someone

The phone Kuve rings when they click to dial.
Lets their CRM dial as this person.
An administrator manages the system rather than taking calls, so they need no extension. Give them a Supervisor or Agent account as well if they should dial.

Email notifications

Kuve can email you when something needs your attention. This never slows calls down. Messages wait in a queue and go out afterwards, so a mail server being down does not affect dialling.

Sent as an Authorization header.
Kuve sends the message as JSON, with to, from, subject, text and html. Your web address then emails it. Use this if this server cannot send mail — most hosting companies block it unless you ask them not to.
Use an address from a domain you already send email from. Mail from a brand new domain usually lands in spam.
Separate several addresses with commas.

Read lists from the CRM

This is Kuve calling the CRM. The API keys on the Integration tab are the other way round — the CRM calling Kuve to place a call. Set this up and a campaign can fill itself from the CRM instead of somebody exporting a spreadsheet every morning.

The part every address starts with. The rest goes on the campaign.
Usually Authorization.
Most systems want the word Bearer in front of the token.

What its fields are called

Kuve needs to know which field holds the phone number. Get this wrong and the campaign comes out empty with no error anywhere — so press Test, it checks exactly this.

Sent back with the result so the CRM knows which record the call was about.
Separate with commas. These appear on the agent's screen while they are talking to the person.

How the CRM hands over long lists

Most systems return a page at a time. If you do not know these, leave them and press Test — it says what it found.

Leave blank if the answer is a plain list.
Blank if it counts pages instead.
Kuve stays under this.

Write the result back onto the record

Optional. After each call Kuve can update the record in the CRM. Leave blank to send nothing — the Integration tab can post results to a web address instead.

Try it

Any address that returns records. Kuve reads five of them and tells you what it could make of them. Nothing is imported.

Dialling limits

The rules Kuve holds itself to. These used to be set on the server; they are here so you can change them yourself. Every campaign works inside these — a campaign can be stricter, never looser.

Set when Kuve was installed

These cannot be changed from here. Changing any of them means restarting Kuve, and two of them are passwords that should never be shown in a browser. Whoever installed Kuve can change them.

How Kuve hears what is happening

Kuve has to know the moment an agent picks up or hangs up. Every kind of phone system tells it differently, so the steps below are the ones for what you have actually connected.

API keys

A key lets your CRM place calls through Kuve — this is how a click-to-dial button authenticates.

Only tick what that system really needs. If a key can only make calls, then even if someone steals it they cannot change your settings.

Send call results to your systems

After every call, Kuve sends the result to these addresses. If one is down, Kuve keeps trying and never slows down dialling.
